Comprising five bulb tubes with plastic scales, mounted in a frame and supported in a water trough 240 x 108 x 77 mm deep.

The frame has clamps to secure it to the trough and two cross members, the lower cross member having holes, and the upper tubules to locate the bulb tubes.

Dimensions overall 240 x 115 x 460 mm high approx. Bulb diameter 35 mm. Bulb stem 400 mm. Supplied complete with glass bulbs and scale.

About 20 cms in dia by 44 mm wide turned and carefully balanced, mounted on a horizontal shaft, held in ball bearings. The wheel is marked and pointer is fixed to the bracket. The bracket has four holes and can be fixed to the wall also.

AJ10078 PLATINUM RESISTANCE THERMOMETER

For showing the principles of platinum resistance thermonetry and for accurate temperature measurement using a bridge method such as 'Cary-Foster' bridge.

The thermometer comprises a length of fine platinum wire of about 2 ohm resistance, wound non-inductively on a mica frame and soldered to stout copper leads. A pair of compensating leads are provided, all four leads being connected to 4mm socket terminals. Since the connection are soft soldered, this resistance thermometer is suitable for temperatures up to about 150oC only and for low termperature work.

Cylinderical copper rod about 300 mm length 25 mm diameter, one end containing a steam chamber connected to inlet and outlet tubes, other end of copper rod has cavity connected via thermometer pockets to water inlet and outlet tubes. Through two thermometers supports tubes 75 mm apart are inserted in the rod for finding the temperature at two points. Fitted in teakwood polished case packed with felt with removable front, without thermometers.

Horizontal type Micrometer screw form. Two cast end pieces joined by two metal rods having support for brass tube nickel plated 50 cm long, 1 cm dia. With riffled inlet and outlet for connection to a steam supply and tubulure for thermometer. One end-piece fitted with sphereometer reading to 0.01 mm and other with contact screw. The end pieces are provided with terminals for connecting bell or galvanometer for indicating exact point of contact of the screw. Supplied with three metal rods one each of copper, brass and iron.
